Cultural Differences

Dear Friends,

My last post to this list referred to the cultural differences that are implicit in understanding biblical time frame references. I gave a couple of examples from ancient texts. The first example was about burning gold and the second was about the caduceus. Between these examples I mentioned how our scientific culture has some unexamined beliefs about the inherent inferiority of past cultures and these hidden assumptions can also confuse our understanding of the meanings of biblical passages/concepts.

Some more examples of this process have risen to the top since my last post.

This forum is an example of how confusing cultural differences can be. One rule on this forum is that we should post all of our responses beneath what we are responding to. Since I joined this forum a few days ago I have seen a number of posts regarding this cultural difference. Because of this and other cultural differences, my first four posts to this forum were rejected with the last rejection note suggesting that I find another list that is more in line with my values. I persisted here because I think it is important to adapt to any culture you are seeking to understand and work with.

Other examples of how cultural differences and hidden assumptions might distort our understanding of biblical reports have been noted in posts using the titles:

Re: atmospheric change....was: Human life span...

The first of these cultural or translation differences arises from our understanding of the concept of global flooding as expressed in various translations of the Old Testament. It is easy to see how a translator might misinterpret a phrase referring to global flooding as meaning all land was covered with water. It is doubtful that any writer of such an account would have been able to view every bit of land on the earth to confirm such a claim.

It is reasonable to presume that the end of the last ice age would have corresponded with an increase in the flooding of coastal areas as the ice melted and filled the ocean basins and as the relief of weight on the ice covered continents allowed them to rise a bit. It is also reasonable to presume that some of the underwater ruins, that have been found in many areas around the world, were suddenly submerged when ice dams broke or land impediments got washed through. Theories about such events are discussed at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deluge_(prehistoric)

Also, do a Google search on underwater ruins. I found numerous examples, with pictures, of submerged ruins in areas ranging from the Sea of Japanto the Black Seaat:

http://www.morien-institute.org/uwnewsarchive.html

Here is an example from the page above:

September 13 2000- BBC News Online has reported that scientists have uncovered ancient ruins under the Black Seawhich indicate that people lived in the area before a cataclysmic flood inundated their homeland.

Some scientists have linked the 7,000-year-old event, thought to have been caused by waters bursting through from the Mediterranean Sea, to the Biblical story of Noah. Dr Robert Ballard told the BBC that:

"This is an incredible find ..."

addingthis was far more significant a find than his discovery of the Titanic way back in 1985.

"It's clear a vast amount of real estate is under water and a vast amount of people were living [here]. This is a major discovery that will begin to rewrite the history of cultures in this key area between Europe, Asiaand the ancient Middle East".

There is also evidence that people from some of the submerged civilizations managed to escape and became "missionaries" or "magi" spreading their cultural knowledge to "less advanced" cultures around them. New evidence in support of this theory can be found at:

http://www.spagyricarts.com/page1/page1.html

Though the link above is to a site which sells products based on the theories propounded on the site, I don't think that this invalidates those theories.

In a nutshell, the theories on this site are as follows. Ancient civilizations with megalithic capabilities were flooded as the last ice age ended. One of the largest of these civilizations was centered in submerged areas near Malaysiaand another was in the Atlantic basin. The two main areas of the Atlanticthat are being examined for ancient ruins are in the underwater plateaus around the British Islesand in the Caribbean.

As these areas became submerged the survivors moved to higher ground. In some cases the higher ground required sailing ships. Petrographic representations of these sailing ships exist on islands between Malaysiaand the Americas. These survivors generally interacted with the indigenous people in a beneficial way by teaching them the basics of their cultural knowledge and science, including methods for improving nutrition and health.

There is even some evidence that they brought elephants with them when they crossed the ocean. A depiction of what looks like Asian elephants has even been found in the Mayan art of stella B, from the temple complex at Copan, Honduras, near the Guatemalan border:

Other recent discussions on this forum relate to the longevity and stature of biblical characters. Here are some related references from the Bible:

Genesis 5:27  Andall the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

Genesis 6:4  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Numbers 13:33  Andthere we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

How might new understandings of ancient cultures explain the longevity and stature of these ancient people?

The Old Testament is not the only document to claim great longevity. Alchemical literature also has such claims. Artephius, an alchemist of the twelfth century, claimed in his alchemical treatise titled "The Secret Book" that he had lived "for the space of a thousand years, or thereabouts, which has now passed over my head, since the time I was born to this day, through the alone goodness of God Almighty, by the use of this wonderful quintessence." But alchemy was suppressed by the dominant structure of the Middle Ages--the Roman Church. Nevertheless, there is some evidence that alchemy survived by being concealed in the great cathedrals of Europethrough the efforts of the workers who designed and built those cathedrals. A French alchemist named Fulcanelli tells us in his book "Le Mystère des Cathédrales" how these secrets of alchemy were carved and concealed in the architecture of the great cathedrals. At:

youcan see a picture that was taken the last time I was in Parisat the Notre Dame cathedral in May of 2006. According to Fulcanelli, this bas relief illustrates how:

"The stream of living water flows at his feet; it gushes out bubbling from the old hollow oak. Our adept has hit the target. And so, scorning the bow and arrows with which, like Cadmus, he pierced the serpent, he watches the welling of this clear spring, whose virtue as a solvent and whose volatile spirit are indicated to him by a bird, perched on the tree."

The solvent, Fulcanelli writes of, was something one could hold in one's hand yet it would dissolve gold in the process of making it into a white powder. Obviously a form of water capable of dissolving gold might be useful to modern science. A couple of my colleagues, who are researching these things, claim that they have dissolved gold by suspending it inside a small replica of the Great Pyramid and have had it turn into a white powder. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this.

Another colleague has developed "stir wands" which change the viscosity and "wetness" of water. He has had his product tested for hydration properties at an FDA approved laboratory with great results. You can find more info on this (including the research reports) by Googling "stir wands".

This technology might be adapted to dissolve stone and would lend support to the theories that the pyramids in Egyptwere made from stone that was poured into forms. This might also explain the incredible tightness of the space between adjoining stones in some of the pyramids.

It might also help us to understand how grinding holes would not necessarily make particles which would damage teeth.

Many of the ancient petroglyphs found in the Americasand elsewhere are associated with "cupules" that have been ground into stone. The conventional archaeological hypothesis used to explain these holes, suggests that they were used for grinding acorns or grain. This hypothesis would not explain cupules ground into vertical stone surfaces like the one depicted on the bottom of the image at:

http://www.OrmusMinerals.com/Grimes-Point-Fallon-NV_Alchemy&Astrology1.jpg

Perhaps a water based stone solvent was used in this situation. Perhaps moss is able to grow on stone through a similar process.

Furthermore, the 9000 plus year old "red haired" mummies found nearby support the hypothesis that ancient refugees from the sunken civilizations were involved in carving the petroglyphs associated with the cupules. You can learn more on this topic by Googling [red hair "spirit cave man" nevada].

Greater height and longevity are attributes often associated with better health. Dorian Taddei, who researched and created the SpagyricArts web site linked above, claims that the cupules were generally found in stones that have a very beneficial mix of nutritional minerals. I am aware of convincing evidence that these minerals are the white powder form of gold and other precious metal elements. It appears that they were known in ancient times and were given many different names. Many suspect that these minerals were the "manna" and "shewbread" mentioned in the Bible:

Exodus 16:14  And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

Exodus 16:15  Andwhen the children of Israelsaw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

In "Ages in Chaos“, Immanuel Velikovsky claims that Solomon’s temple and palaces were looted when Egyptconquered Israelsoon after the death of king Solomon. He claims that the inventory of this loot can be found in the Templeof Karnakin Egypt. A picture and story of this inventory bas relief can be found at:

http://www.OrmusMinerals.com/shewbread.htm

In "Ages in Chaos" Velikovsky wrote:

"Next to the altar was the table "whereupon the shewbread was" (I Kings 7:48; II Chronicles 4:19). The shewbread was obviously not of flour, but of silver or gold; in the Book of Exodus12 it is said that shewbread was made by Bezaleel, who was a goldsmith. Shewbread is pictured on the bas-relief of Karnakin the form of a cone."

Some also suspect that the Egyptians called these minerals “mfkat" which was made into a white bread, which was offered as gold to the gods. Other ancient traditions called them "prana" and "chi". The ancient Chinese alchemist Wei Po-yang wrote of the "Pill of Immortality" which is made of Huan Tan (Returned Medicine) an edible powder from gold. After one ingests Huan Tan "the complexion becomes rejuvenated, hoary hair regains its blackness, and new teeth grow where fallen ones used to be. If an old man, he will once more become a youth; if an old woman, she will regain her maidenhood.“

The most recent names given these minerals are ORMEs, m-state and ormus.

When these minerals are fed to animals, the animals show significant increases in growth while consuming less food. There has also been one report of a cat growing a new tail after loosing his tail in a wind storm. You can find some of these reports linked at:

http://www.OrmusMinerals.com/animal-lynx.htm

Though we have no direct evidence that people will become giants after generations of consuming these minerals, we do have some good evidence that plants grow larger and healthier. You can find links to some of these reports at:

http://www.OrmusMinerals.com/plant-lynx.htm

As I mentioned earlier, there are very simple ways to concentrate these minerals using simple, kitchen chemistry. One of these methods is on the page linked above.

I am always eager to freely share this information and how it appears to relate to the connection of all things.

With kindest regards,

Barry Carter

"What you think upon grows. Whatever you allow to occupy your mind you magnify in your life. Whether the subject of your thought be good or bad, the law works and the condition grows. Any subject that you keep out of your mind tends to diminish in your life, because what you do not use atrophies. The more you think of grievances, the more such trials you will continue to receive; the more you think of the good fortune you have had, the more good fortune will come to you."
