Sodium Burn Picture Index

Disclaimer:

The process depicted in these photos is quite dangerous. Sodium is a highly reactive metal which can spontaneously ignite in air or on contact with water. The Essene and other researchers claim that radiation is produced during the burn process. Though some researchers have not detected radiation using a geiger counter, there are some forms of radiation which are very dangerous but are not detectable by a geiger counter.

Though protective clothing is not being worn by the folks in the pictures, it should always be worn during every portion of this process.

The Essene's Sodium Burn process is done in titanium pots which are made from titanium pipe welded to pieces of sheet titanium. He uses two different titanium pots for the burn. He uses a small pot measuring 7 inches high by 4.5 inches in inside diameter for the gold burn and a larger pot measuring 10 inches high by 6.5 inches in inside diameter for the M-3 burn. The small pot has a half inch lip and the large pot has a 3/4 inch lip to clamp the lid down on.

  1. The black sand for the M-3 burn is ground fine so that it will fit through a 100 mesh screen.
  2. The sodium metal is cut, like frozen butter, on a plastic cutting board. Note the black sand powder on the fingers in the picture.
  3. The sodium metal is sliced about a quarter inch to a half inch thick and layered with the black sand in the bottom of the large pot. The first layer should be sodium with up to three layers total.
  4. After the ingredients are layered in the bottom of the titanium pot the lid is clamped on. This picture shows the pot with part of the clamps tightened on and this picture shows the pot with the lid totally clamped and ready to go on the burning platform.
  5. The titanium vessel with sodium and black sand is heated till the bottom is cherry red with a torch. This link leads to images of an alternate burn setup.
  6. After the burn is completed the pot and its contents are allowed to cool.
  7. Once they have cooled, water is sprayed in the pot to react with any unreacted sodium.
  8. This mixture is allowed to settle for a while and is then is broken up.
  9. The pieces should be transfered to a stainless steel pot where lye water is added and the whole solution is boiled for two hours.
  10. After the boiling is complete the mixture will look something like this.
  11. The liquid from the boil is filtered through two coffee filters which are prepared by first filtering toilet paper which has been blended with water.
  12. The pH of the filtrate is slowly brought down to 8.5 while being stirred.
Here is a bonus picture of the Essene (on the left) his daughter (on the right) and her boyfriend (in the center). Another bonus picture of the their home and laboratory. The laboratory is the building on the upper  left and their home is the mobile home on the lower right.

Here are some more images from another burn by another group.
